Two ways to take part
Some participants want a steady, goal-focused routine. Others prefer to choose their own sessions. Care to Change offers both, and we will help you work out which one fits.
The Day Program (structured, six months)
The Day Program runs three days a week across a six-month cycle, and each day has a focus. Mondays centre on community and confidence, Tuesdays on healthy independence and daily living, and Fridays on work readiness. Sessions are planned around your goals, so skills build steadily from one week to the next.
Group Activities (flexible)
Group Activities offer the same supports without the six-month commitment. You choose the outings, social events and skill-building sessions that interest you, and take part on an ad hoc basis. This suits participants who want connection and new experiences on their own terms.
What you might work on
Every week balances building independence, getting out into the community, and preparing for work or study.
What a month looks like
Each month of the Day Program follows a theme, building from foundations and confidence through to work readiness and an end-of-year celebration. Most months include a major event, a community outing and a guest speaker, alongside the steady skill-building.
Recent programs have taken participants on a train trip to the EKKA, run a participant-led Silent Disco, visited a museum, held a community BBQ, and worked through budget cooking challenges. Guest speakers have included a police officer on staying safe in the community and a local employer on what workplaces look for.
Based at the Morayfield Hub
The program runs from the Care to Change Morayfield Hub at 19 to 31 Dickson Road, Morayfield QLD 4506, a welcoming and accessible space for learning a skill, sharing a meal and connecting with others. Some activities take place in the community, depending on the week’s plan and what participants are working towards.
