Care to Change walks with a purpose.
This October we are joining the Walk for Awareness to stand with those affected by mental illness and to honour the lives lost to suicide.
Why we walk
Every day in Australia nine people lose their lives to suicide. That is more than 3,000 people each year. These are not just numbers. They are loved ones, family members, friends and colleagues.
One in five Australians will experience mental illness this year. It could be someone in your family, your workplace or your friendship circle. At Care to Change, we believe no one should walk through life’s challenges alone. We are a local organisation that provides support to people with disability and their families, and we are committed to open conversations that reduce stigma and build connection.

📍 Suttons Beach, Redcliffe
🕗 From 8.00 am, Saturday 11 October
🚶 9 kilometres
Walk beside us and help shine a light on mental health. Celebrate the finish with a joyful colour throw that symbolises hope and community. Then stay for a sausage sizzle to top it off.
Whether you walk with us or support from afar, your involvement matters. Your presence and your donation help start conversations and fund support where it is needed most.
Let us walk with purpose
This is more than a community event. It is a statement of hope, strength and solidarity. We are walking for those we have lost, for those who are struggling, and for everyone who chooses to reach out for help.
